The company has often pushed trios wrestling, and that has been a lot of fun to watch, which should help to create a fascinating division. Tony Khan has revealed a tournament will be taking place to set the first champions, and there are plenty of trios teams that fans want to see involved from the start.

10 House Of Black

The House Of Black is one of the genuine trios on the AEW roster right now, therefore they make absolute sense to be involved in the tournament, and it is most likely that they will be participating. Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews are all fantastic wrestlers, bringing different styles into the ring.

On top of that, they have a specific gimmick that a lot of the other trios do not have, and seeing them together to potentially become champions is something that could lead to success. Their hard-hitting style is always enjoyable to watch, which is what would make them a great addition to the division.

9 The Young Bucks & Hangman Page

While fans are eager for the idea of The Young Bucks teaming up with Kenny Omega, that is the obvious route for the company to take, and it is something that Tony Khan could do later on down the line. Considering the fact the Cleaner is also injured, now would be a smarter time to bring them together with Hangman Page.

AEW has been telling a long storyline about bringing them back together, and it is something that has been getting teased on television. It would create a great moment for the trio, and it would instantly create a fan favorite option that sets up several major storyline possibilities.

8 Dalton Castle & The Boys

Dalton Castle And The Boys

Dalton Castle isn't an official member of the AEW roster, but he is someone that Tony Khan has used during his two ROH PPVs to this point, and he has competed on AEW television. At Death Before Dishonor, Castle and The Boys won the ROH Trios Championships, showing that Khan seems to have plans for them.

It would give ROH a spotlight to have their trios champions involved in this tournament, pushing to try and unify them, which would eliminate the complaint of too many belts. Plus, it would help to showcase the three men to the AEW audience, which is what Khan needs to do for ROH's future.

7 Gunn Club

Gunn Club

Gunn Club are not likely a trio that AEW is ready to fully invest in when it comes to putting these new titles on them right now, but every tournament needs to have teams to fill it out. That is where this family would slot in, with all three men being great workers who can put on an exciting match.

Austin and Colten are two stars for the future, so giving them this type of exposure can only be seen as a good thing, while Billy Gunn would bring a level of experience and star power to it all.

6 Best Friends

The Best Friends in AEW

Best Friends have been one of AEW's top trios for a long time, therefore they need to be involved in this tournament. Chuck Taylor, Trent, and Orange Cassidy are all incredibly popular, and extremely talented, which should tick any box that Tony Khan is looking at for this one.

They might not be the main event players in AEW, but they could certainly make fantastic trios champions, and they would work as great dark horses to put in this, while they would also be able to bring a little comedy as well.

5 Blackpool Combat Club

Blackpool Combat Club are more than likely going to be involved in this trios tournament, and that should be the case considering how much star power is in the group. With Jon Moxley currently the Interim AEW World Champion, it would make sense for the team to be Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.

This would add three tremendous wrestlers to the tournament who are all fan favorites, and it would help to continue pushing their new faction and the aggressive manner in which they want to be portrayed inside the ring.

4 Jericho Appreciation Society

Daniel Garcia making his entrance with 2.0

The Jericho Appreciation Society is a top faction in AEW right now, and because of that, they should be featured in the trios championship tournament. While there are plenty of top stars in that group, out of everybody it would make the most sense for Daniel Garcia to team up with Angelo Parker and Matt Menard.

They were already a trio before this faction was formed, therefore they already have chemistry together as a group. On top of that, they are the ones in the faction that would benefit the most from the big push and a focused moment.

3 CM Punk & FTR

CM Punk and FTR Cropped

CM Punk and FTR might not be an official team, but they're a trio that fans would love to see if CM Punk can return healthy. They're three of the most popular talents around, and when they have been used together on AEW television their chemistry is clear to see.

Adding great wrestlers to this tournament is an instant way to bring attention to it, and considering how many titles FTR are holding right now, it would make sense for them to get included in this tournament.

2 Undisputed Elite

Bobby Fish Adam Cole Kyle O'Reilly

While many wrestlers make up this faction, it should be the combination of former NXT stars that work as a trios team to participate under this banner. Seeing Adam Cole working alongside reDRagon is the right way to go, with this group being a force to be reckoned with.

Because of how dominant they were in NXT, fans would be able to react immediately to them, understanding that they're a top group that should be considered a threat. Plus, inside the ring, they already have chemistry as a team which should lead to good matches.

1 Death Triangle

Death Triangle On AEW Dynamite

Trios wrestling is often incredibly exciting due to the fast-paced nature of it and the fact there is always something happening, and that is what makes Death Triangle an ideal group to be involved in the tournament. They have been working together for a long time, and they have a track record of incredible six-man tags in AEW.

Because of that, it would not be a surprise to see them not only in the tournament, but go far in it as well. They're a group that would seriously benefit from winning some gold to truly solidify them as a three, and this could be their route to doing that together.
