Total Divas has proven to be incredibly popular from the moment it was created up until now. The series has always been a hit with both wrestling and non-wrestling fans, blending reality with scripted moments to create a really entertaining show.

Because the show is all presented as 'real' it isn't always easy to determine what actually happened and what was scripted. However, there are certain moments that do feel like they simply had to be scripted, while others are clearly real.
10 Had To Be Scripted: Dean Ambrose Chases A Robber
One moment that simply had to be scripted was the time when Dean Ambrose chased after someone who stole Renee Young's hat. The couple were enjoying a meal outside with Renee's mom when a stranger randomly decided to take her hat.
The entire situation was clearly scripted as it was just one of those moments that was too hard to believe was real. Plus, Ambrose always seemed to go over the top with his acting on this show, which didn't help the situation.
9 That Were Real: Nikki Bella Wanting A Family
One of the big storylines throughout Total Divas was the relationship between John Cena and Nikki Bella. It played such a big part that it also continued on Total Bellas, as Nikki clearly wanted marriage and children in her life.

It was also very clear that John Cena did not want those things. While that conflict obviously made great drama for television, it was something that was very much real, as has been proven by the fact their relationship didn't last and Nikki is now engaged and starting a family.
8 Had To Be Scripted: Summer Rae Slaps Natalya
A lot of people forget that Summer Rae was part of the series, mainly because she was involved earlier on in the show. However, she was part of plenty of drama throughout the series, including her issues with Natalya.
However, believing that she would actually turn up to Nattie's house, with a camera crew to then slap her in the face is just a little far fetched. It's clear that this one was added in to bring some drama, with physicality hardly being an issue for either.
7 That Were Real: Paige's Career Ends
An incredibly emotional moment from Total Divas took a major focus on when Paige's in-ring career came to an end. Her time in wrestling was forced to be finished due to injury, and the show did delve into those issues.
It was clearly a very emotional point of the series and a horrible portion of Paige's life. The show detailed that section in a major manner, and that is something that deserves to be recognized as a very real moment.
6 Had To Be Scripted: Lana Launches A Shot Put
Lana is involved in a lot of crazy moments throughout the course of Total Divas, causing quite a lot of tension at times with others. However, one of the most stupid has to be when she started learning to shot put with Jim Neidhart.
For some reason, the two of them randomly start throwing a shot put outside and, of course, Lana's throw doesn't go to plan. Not only does it not go to plan, but somehow it actually smashes the windshield of Natalya's car.
5 That Were Real: All The Weddings
The relationships on the show are a big part of the drama that comes with it, but they are also some of the most real things that happen. Throughout the series, many of the women involved have gotten married and the show has used those as big episodes.

The likes of Lana, Eva Marie, and Brie Bella have had their weddings showcased and that is something that is absolutely real. The relationships have all lasted since their marriages as well, which a clear sign about the fact they love each other.
4 Had To Be Scripted: Wedding Crasher
Speaking of weddings, while the actual ceremonies are obviously very real, that doesn't stop Total Divas putting in some ridiculous moments. The worst of the bunch was during Natalya's wedding when one of her friends revealed his feelings for her.
The cameras were there to capture every minute, like anybody would actually want that documented as Nattie and TJ had to have serious conversations about their relationship, proving it was very much scripted.
3 That Were Real: Paige vs. Lana
Something that has been a recurring situation throughout Total Divas has been the issues between Paige and Lana. The two of them have had a lot of arguments throughout several episodes and major trips and because it has been so over the top, some have wondered if it's legitimate.

Well, it is well-known that they really don't get along well. They've had issues on social media against each other and when they've been shown on the series, that has come to life.
2 Had To Be Scripted: Dolph Ziggler's Pursuit Of Nikki Bella
While Nikki Bella and Dolph Ziggler were once in a legitimate relationship, when Total Divas started, that was no longer the case. Instead, Nikki was in a relationship with John Cena, however, that didn't stop Dolph trying to win back his ex.
It was a very strange storyline with Dolph attempting to win over Nikki, even going as far as trying to kiss her backstage at an event. Considering Cena was a regular on the roster and likely friends with Ziggler, this just seems like an impossible situation.
1 That Were Real: Dusty Rhodes Passing
One of the most emotional moments from Total Divas history is the time that Dusty Rhodes' death is announced to the cast of the show. Dusty played a huge impact in the development of women's wrestling and really helped the talents on the show.
The women were all on a trip to Mexico when the news broke and the pure emotion was very clear to see. It's one of the saddest moments in the history of the show as the women broke down and struggled with the emotions.
