This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown was very good overall. We had a couple of good matches and there were some top-notch segments as well. The feuds are hot, and it's hard to wait for WrestleMania to see the outcome.RELATED: 10 Things WWE Fans Forget About The Build Up To WrestleMania 28The loud Kansas City crowd enjoyed a great match between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus as well as an entertaining mixed tag team match. Also, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair had their best promo so far, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are back together and much more. Without further ado, here are eight things fans need to know about this week's WWE SmackDown.
8 Cody Rhodes Tried To Reconcile Sami Zayn And Kevin Owens
This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown began with a promo from Cody Rhodes. He talked a bit about his road to WrestleMania and then invited Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to the ring. Cody tried to be some sort of mediator to get Owens and Zayn to reconcile.
Zayn said again that if they worked together, they could take down the Bloodline, and that they didn't even have to do it as friends. Owens then looked disappointed and said that it wasn't worth it to work with someone who doesn't want to be friends. After that, as KO was leaving the arena, Sami told him that they were not friends, but brothers.
7 Rhea Ripley & Dominik Mysterio Defeated Santos Escobar & Zelina Vega
Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio faced off against Zelina Vega and Santos Escobar in a mixed tag team match. It was an entertaining contest, with nice in-ring action. "The Eradicator" carried Dom, but in the other corner, Escobar looked good, and Zelina had her best performance in a long time. After seven minutes, Rhea Ripley hit a devastating Riptide and pinned Zelina Vega for the win.
6 Rey Mysterio Talked To His Son Dominik
After that match, Dominik Mysterio took the microphone and talked about his father, and then Rey came to the ring. Rey admitted that he hasn't been the best father, as he missed birthdays, Christmas, soccer games and other things, but he also said that Dominik was his world and that he would love to have him by his side when he gets inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (obviously Dom said no). Rey said once again that he will not fight his son at WrestleMania or anywhere else.
5 Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez Punched Their Ticket To WrestleMania
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez faced off against Tegan Nox and Emma in a qualifying match for a fatal-four way match at WrestleMania. It was a decent match, but too short to remember for more than a couple of days. Morgan and Rodriguez looked good and won the match in just under four minutes. This seems like a good idea to include eight women on the WrestleMania card.
4 Fun Brawl Between Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley
Charlotte Flair said that she is entering WrestleMania as Champion again, she said that no matter how many things change, things are still the same (at least for her). Then Rhea Ripley showed up and cut one of the best promos of her career. Ripley said that all the women in WWE fear her, except Charlotte Flair, and that pisses her off. Ripley admitted that Charlotte is a superstar, and she is the champion for a reason, but said that after WrestleMania Flair was going to learn to fear Ripley and call her champion.
After that, Ripley knocked Flair down with a right hand, and then we saw a fun-to-watch brawl. They went at it for several minutes and no one could separate them. It was an excellent segment that definitely heated up the feud.
3 Xavier Woods Defeated LA Knight
This Friday Xavier Woods and LA Knight collided in a singles match. The bout lasted barely two minutes and frankly there is not much to comment on it. Xavier Woods was the winner after rolling up LA Knight. After the match, LA Knight looked desperate apparently because he still doesn't have a match at WrestleMania, so he told Rey Mysterio that he could face Dominik instead. Rey responded with a right hand.
2 Gunther Will Defend The Intercontinental Title In A Triple Threat Match At WrestleMania
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus went one-on-one for an Intercontinental Title shot at WrestleMania. As expected, they delivered a banger, it was an excellent match, with hard-hitting action, good spots, and a hot crowd.
Sheamus and McIntyre simply have a lot of chemistry, and they show it every time they work together. The ending was a bit disappointing, though, as Imperium attacked both Sheamus and McIntyre, but at least the aftermath is great, as we'll get a Triple Threat match.
1 Kevin Owens Hugged Sami Zayn
In the final segment of this week's Friday Night SmackDown Sami Zayn and Jey Uso had a confrontation. Jey said that Sami betrayed him, that he was already part of the family, but he made the wrong decision. Sami then said that actually, the one who made the wrong decisions is Jey, because he still follows Roman Reigns' orders, allowing his mistreatment.
They went to blows and of course, Jimmy Uso showed up as well. The Usos beat Sami, but then Kevin Owens came in, got rid of the Usos and finally hugged Sami Zayn, which the fans loved.
