After starring as superhero Arrow for eight seasons, Stephen Amell, 39, is now set to star in the upcoming Starz drama Heels, in which the actor will be playing one of two brothers at the center of a family-owned wrestling promotion in a small Georgia community.
Although production on the show had been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, it looks like the crew is now on set and ready to start filming. On Instagram, Amell posted a pic of a prop from the show. In Heels, the family patriarch, a legend in the industry, will have his two sons competing to carry on his legacy. Amell’s brother will be played by Vikings' Alexander Ludwig.

Given the show’s title, we can expect the sibling rivalry to be intense. Filming is expected to take place in and around the Atlanta area. Amell, no stranger to wearing tights, mentioned earlier this year that he was bulking up to play a wrestler, gaining more than 20 lbs.
A lifelong wrestling fan, Amell has made several appearances in major professional wrestling promotions, including working a match for WWE in 2015 on the May 25 episode of Raw, where he had a confrontation with Stardust, aka Cody Rhodes. In early August, he returned to the ring after being assaulted in the audience by Rhodes. On August 23, Amell and Neville beat Barrett and Stardust in a tag team match.
On December 21, 2015, Amell was awarded a Slammy for the "Celebrity Moment of the Year" for his dive onto Rhodes during the match. The Canadian actor returned to wrestling for Ring of Honor on November 17, 2017, at Survival of the Fittest. He joined the Bullet Club faction and teamed with Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks in a five-on-four tag team match. They defeated The Addiction, Flip Gordon, and Scorpio Sky.
Currently, there hasn’t been a release date for Heels, though it is expected to debut this fall or early next year.
