It sounds like WWE has decided on how they'll use Bray Wyatt going foward.

Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) made a thrilling return to WWE at the end of Saturday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, following the main event between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins. Riddle defeated The Architect in a Fight Pit match, with UFC legend Daniel Cormier serving as the special guest referee.

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the former WWE and Universal Champion "is currently only slated for appearances on" the WWE SmackDown show. Wyatt has already been announced for this week's episode that will run at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 35-year-old Wyatt was unexpectedly released from his WWE contract on July 31 of last year, while Vince McMahon was still in charge of the company. But under new Head of Talent Relations and creative team leader Triple H, we've seen a plethora of previously-released stars return to WWE.

Vince announced his retirement from WWE on July 22. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named the co-CEOs of WWE, with Triple H replacing John Laurinaitis as the Head of Talent Relations. The new leadership group in WWE has already brought back Braun Strowman, Hit Row (Top Dolla, Ashante "Thee" Adonis and B-Fab), Gallows and Anderson, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Dakota Kai and Dexter Lumis.

Prior to his release last summer, Wyatt's most recent WWE appearance took place on the post-WrestleMania 37 edition of Raw. He announced that he was seeking a fresh start during a "Firefly Fun House segment", following his loss to Randy Orton at The Show of Shows.

After Wyatt returned at Extreme Rules, Dave Meltzer reported that the third-generation wrestler also received offers from AEW, Impact Wrestling and AAA. Wyatt ultimately decided to wait things out, and it led to him coming back to the WWE for a second go. And surely, thinks will go much better this time around with Triple H leading the way instead of McMahon.
