Most fans will argue this was probably the smart decision by WWE. That is, get Bad Bunny and The Miz out of having to try and make a singles match work at WrestleMania 37 and get some tag partners in there to hide any lack of in-ring talent the rapper might have.
WWE officially pulled the trigger on that decision on Monday night, turning Bad Bunny vs. The Miz into Bad Bunny and Damian Priest vs. The Miz and John Morrison. It took a few weeks too long and a ruined $3.6 million Bugatti to get there, but it's probably for the best.
While the decision will take away some of the marquee buzz that comes with Bad Bunny wrestling on his own in a one-on-one match, a tag match is probably the safer way to go and will hide his lack of experience as a professional wrestler. This was never going to be an in-ring classic, but a tag match offers up a lot more controlled chaos and chances for the good guys to capture the win in a "WrestleMania moment".
Really, this was bound to look like a tag match anyways. There was never much doubt that Priest and Morrison would be heavily involved. That it has changed isn't a shocker. That it changed one week before WrestleMania 37 might be, a little bit.
Seems Clear Who Will Win This One
Now that it's a tag match and Priest is officially involved, it seems pretty clear that The Miz and Morrison are in deep trouble. Priest is the big man of the four and on a real roll in WWE. He's also coming into the pay-per-view upset that the heels ruined his buddy's $3.6 million Bugatti.
The host of Miz TV and the Dirt Sheet have like awakened a sleeping giant who was cool to let Bad Bunny handle his own business. Not any more.
