Bret The Hitman Hart is often regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever live. His in-ring attire is as memorable as Hart's in-ring career. Bret Hart always stood out as a guy who wasn't afraid to wear pink despite the color being viewed as "less manly" in the 80s and 90s.

Although "The Hitman" won many matches over his career, some of his outfits were not winners. Being a trendsetter means having hits and misses, this list remembers the amazing "HItman" outfits that helped evolve wrestling tights and those that were not quite "the best there ever was."
10 Worst: The "Bird Droppings" Tights
Bret Hart co-won the 1994 Royal Rumble wearing a version of his "all black" tights that featured white paint splotches. Although the style was very 90s and Hart wanted a change for the big win, they didn't quite work for "The Hitman."
The splotches made his outfit look dirty and, worst of all, some compare the white paint to bird droppings. Hart also clearly knew this outfit was a "miss" as he only wore the outfit a few times and relied much more on the solid colors than random splotches.
9 Best: The Classic Pink Top
Bret Hart's attire is mostly remembered for its black and pink mix. His pink top with black bottoms is often remembered as the "classic Bret look." To anyone else in the WWE, this look would've been a one-off gimmick outfit since pink spaghetti string shoulder straps were more reserved for middle school girls than main event wrestlers.
Bret dominated the ring in this attire proving any notions of the color "not being for men" wrong.
8 Worst: Pink Singlet
Survivor Series 1993 featured one of the rare times Bret Hart wore a short cut singlet. Most fans are glad this was a rare occurrence since the outfit was awful. In a way, it sort of went with the theme that the Hart brothers were displaying their classic wrestling family look, but it just didn't suit Bret as well as his classic attire.
Sure, Bret and the Harts made pink cool, but this skimpy suit was not one of the reasons why. Bret Hart without pants is as distracting as Stone Cold with hair.
7 Best: All Black "Hitman" Flames
In WCW, Bret Hard abandoned the pink tops for more decorated pants. Although his time in WCW was not the most memorable part of his career, all of his outfits were great. The outfit he wore at Slamboree 1998 was one of the most intricate he ever sported proving no matter how poor his bookers were he always looked top tier.

Bret's all-black look was more prominent in his later years as a wrestler and all these years later, it still holds up.
6 Worst: The Pink Pants
At WrestleMania VI, Bret wore the closest his attire ever looked to a ballet outfit. Of course, he could pull off pink, but pink pants are a tough sell for anyone especially if the top looks like a leotard.
This outfit will go down as one of the few times Bret Hart could not make pink and black look cool.
5 Best: Bret Hart nWo Shirt
Bret Hart's awful turn to the nWo 2000 defined his career at WCW. It was the same old story with a new star and not even "the Hitman" could save the awful turn. Despite how poorly executed Hart joining the nWo was, his look with the nWo was great. Most superstars who joined the nWo kept the essence of who they were and added the nWo's black and white look and logo to their look.
Bret Hart did the same with his wrestling tights covered by the iconic nWo shirt. The nWo and Hart defined an era of wrestling so, although the idea ultimately failed, the mix of him and the nWo attire visually was great.

4 Worst: Teal and Black
Before he wore the iconic black and pink attire, Hart wrestled in a teal and black attire that was atrocious. He was likely trying out different styles to find his look and luckily he nixed the teal.
It's hard to imagine a world where instead of the pink he chose the teal. This was proof Bret pulled the pink off since this other "loud color" was not a good look at all.
3 Best: The Classic WWE attire
Hart is most remembered for this look, the classic black top with pink pants and white boots. He defended every championship at least once in a variation of this look.
The skull and wings logo in the center with hearts on the pants made this look pop beyond the pink. It's the attire that defined the attitude era and the best attire he ever wore.
2 Worst: Bright Pink Harts And Crafts
At SummerSlam 1988, Hart wore the single heart all pink attire, and fans were mixed about this look. He was obviously foreshadowing how great an all-pink outfit could look but still hadn't figured out how to pull it off.
The single black heart on the left side didn't help since the placement felt random and the overall look was more "arts and crafts" than "hitman".
1 Best: Pink and Black That Started It All
Before he started adding logos, white boots, and "hitman" to his outfits, Bret first wore this outfit. To modern audiences, the outfit is a plain black top with pink pants. In the 80s, this was game-changing wrestling attire.
It wasn't as poppy as Hulk Hogan or as different as Ultimate Warrior, but it was the precursor to the outfit that would define the attitude era and also the precursor to the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be."
