Bryan Danielson had some pretty incredible moments while under the WWE umbrella. None compared to his crowning moment in the main event of WrestleMania 30, of course, and it will forever be one of the greatest moments in WWE history. The feeling generated by that event stalled soon after when Danielson was forced to relinquish the title two months later so he could undergo neck surgery.
Bryan Danielson Tried To Warn WWE
The Yes Movement that culminated at WrestleMania 30 began when Danielson was omitted from that year's Royal Rumble. That's why when the former champion returned and entered the Rumble the following year, his music was met with a huge reaction from the fans in-house. Fast forward ten minutes, and Bray Wyatt throwing Danielson from the ring was met with a chorus of boos.

Things went from bad to worse for the match from that point on. Roman Reigns would win but even the endorsement of The Rock who came to the ring to raise his cousin's hand didn't stop the wave of negativity coming his way. If only those in charge of booking the match had listened to Danielson, the whole situation could have potentially been avoided.
"This Is A Bad Idea"
“I told them, 'I think this is a bad idea. This isn't necessarily great for Roman.' They kind of ignored that,” Danielson said during a recent appearance on Oral Sessions (H/T Fightful). Danielson clarified right away that Reigns has done an incredible job to come back from that and go on to become one of the biggest wrestlers in the world. He also didn't explain whether he pitched winning the match, being in it for longer, or simply not entering at all.
What WWE didn't know at the time was Danielson would be sidelined through injury again a few months after that and forced to retire. Thankfully that retirement didn't stick and Danielson returned to the ring, won the WWE Title again, and is now plying his trade in AEW. It seems likely he will be a World Champion again, perhaps even in WWE depending on the length of his AEW deal and how he envisions his in-ring career coming to an end.
