It's going to be a while before we see Charlotte Flair wrestle again. Suffering a serious knee injury, The Queen will undergo surgery that will sideline her for at least nine months. However, before suffering that injury, the 14-time champion penned a lucrative new WWE deal. One that reportedly makes her one of the highest-paid women in WWE history and even includes her very bus.
Lots Of Money And A Bus
The report comes from Fightful Select (via Inside The Ropes) and notes the contract extension includes a huge increase to Flair's salary. It also means Flair will be tied to WWE for several years, and she joins the likes of Randy Orton in getting her very own bus. Top WWE Superstars have been working their own buses into deals for a while so they can travel in comfort and perhaps even sleep as they go from city to city.

The full extent of Flair's knee injury and recovery time has been revealed, and she might have hurt her neck too.This might well be the first of many big-money deals we see for top stars in the coming months as Flair's is reportedly the first contract extension signed since the TKO merger. Rey and Dominik Mysterio have also signed contract extensions recently, but Flair's was hammered out first. It was previously reported that some WWE deals ending in 2024 hadn't been renewed yet, likely because all focus was on the change in ownership.
Time Tacked On
If TKO sticks to the same rule set WWE used, then Flair may well be attached to the promotion far longer than she agreed upon on her big-money extension. When injured, even though wrestlers are still paid, their contracts are frozen until they can return. That means if Flair can't wrestle for nine months, those nine months may well be added to the end of her current deal. Considering how much Flair is now making, I can't imagine she'll mind that all that much.
Flair committing to WWE for the foreseeable future isn't all that surprising. Unlikely to leave the company for AEW, even though her dad is All Elite right now, Flair has made it clear she wants to surpass her father's World Title record, and I'm not sure AEW titles would count towards that tally. Her commitment to WWE may fuel rumors Andrade will be leaving AEW. Flair's husband's contract expires in 2024, and he appears to be gearing up for a departure.
