Dark Side of the Ring has been renewed for a third season. It will be the longest season to date, boasting 14 episodes.

Fans of wrestling will know that, for the most part, it is a fun and unique business to follow. However, it has a dark side, a very dark side. Over the decades, a number of bad things have happened either in the business, to the business, or to people in the business. The creators of docuseries Dark Side of the Ring have been exploring those instances for the past few years.

Executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener have covered sensitive subjects such as the double murder suicide of Chris Benoit, the in-ring death of Owen Hart, and the terrible idea that was Brawl for All during the show's first two seasons. However, there is clearly still so much more left to explore. That's why Vice has renewed Dark Side of the Ring for a third season.

Deadline was the first to break the news, at which point it was shared on the Dark Side of the Ring's Twitter account. "We’re coming back in 2021 with 14 new episodes. What stories would you like to see us cover?" the tweet reads. Our assumption is that the topics that will be covered have already been confirmed and work has begun. Although you never know, perhaps there are a couple of slots left to fill.

There has been no official confirmation on what will be covered during season three. However, PWInsider's Mike Johnson has been making some educated guesses based on who the team behind the show has interviewed so far for season three. It seems as if it will include episodes on the death of Brian Pillman, an episode about Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, and also one based on the time WCW held an event in North Korea.

Dark Side of the Ring not only goes in-depth on topics fans thought they had heard everything about but also takes viewers to dark corners they might have never even heard of. The Herb Abrams episode from season two, for example. A wild ride that many fans were probably completely unaware of. We look forward to more of that in season three.
