Drew McIntyre’s WWE journey has been a fascinating story, from being billed as the “Chosen One”, to getting fired, to returning years later and becoming a WWE Champion; it has been like a fairy-tale. Since his comeback, McIntyre has found himself in and around the main event scene for a couple of years now, with him proving himself worthy of that spot.

He has had a selection of main event PPV matches thus far, all with varying quality, but all mostly being solid. Some are certainly better than others, with McIntyre delivering in several big matches on numerous occasions.
Note: Royal Rumble matches won’t be included in this list.
8 Brock Lesnar Vs Drew McIntyre, WrestleMania 36 Night Two
This should have been so much better than it was. After winning the Royal Rumble and finally achieving his destiny of becoming a top star, McIntyre was set to battle Brock Lesnar in a huge WWE Championship clash. Unfortunately, the pandemic meant that the match took place in front of zero people.
The resulting match was severely underwhelming and was mostly just a spam of finishers which eventually saw McIntyre defeat Lesnar and win the WWE Championship. His celebration provided a nice moment, but the match itself wasn’t anything special, with it being far too short to live up to expectations.
7 WWE Championship Elimination Chamber (& Vs. The Miz), Elimination Chamber 2021
Whilst there wasn’t too much doubt to the result of this Elimination Chamber match, with McIntyre the clear favorite in a field which included Sheamus, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston, and Jeff Hardy, it was still an entertaining contest.
There were some decent and inventive moments, but it certainly wasn’t the greatest Chamber match of all time. The aftermath saw Bobby Lashley attack McIntyre, leading to The Miz cashing in his Money in the Bank, which left the show with a big cliffhanger and shenanigans, even if it wasn’t the most popular of decisions.
6 Drew McIntyre Vs Randy Orton, Hell In A Cell 2020
Whilst this ran slow at times, as Randy Orton matches often do, this felt like a proper main event championship match, with some big moments and methodical action. McIntyre took a bump from the side of the Cell, and for a man that size, it must be respected.

In hindsight, the Orton victory was pointless, as McIntyre won the title back not long after, but it was still a surprise to see the heel emerge victorious, especially since the babyface champion had overcome him multiple times prior.
5 Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Money In The Bank 2019
McIntyre was considered one of the favorites going into this match, and for good reason, with it feeling like just a matter of time before he broke out. He played his role well as a dominant heel in this match, being one of the biggest men in the match and dishing out punishment to his opponents.
Other participants in the match included Baron Corbin, Mustafa Ali, Andrade, Finn Balor, Randy Orton, and Ricochet, with the men meshing together wonderfully to produce a match which was full of fluid action and big spots. Unfortunately, the finish saw Brock Lesnar make a surprise appearance, entering the match and winning the briefcase, rendering most of what came before completely pointless.
4 Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro Vs The Bloodline, Backlash 2022
Whilst this would have been better suited to an episode of Raw or SmackDown given that there was nothing on the line, this was a brilliant car crash of a main event, with six-man tag matches rarely failing to impress in WWE.
Perhaps the start of the match ran slow at times, but it all built up to an action-packed final act which saw everyone get a chance to shine. It was given a lot of time to develop, but it shouldn’t have main \-evented on the night, especially when there was a title match earlier in the show.
3 Bobby Lashley Vs Drew McIntyre, Hell In A Cell 2021
By the time this match rolled around, fans had gotten tired of seeing these two face off, but even with those issues, they put on a great main event. The two powerhouses clashed in a hard-hitting contest, in which it felt like they truly hated each other.
There were some brutal moments, living up to the Cell stipulation, but the ending wasn’t the greatest, with MVP getting involved, and Lashley winning with a roll-up. In a Hell in a Cell match, a roll-up victory felt very anticlimactic.
2 The Shield Vs Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, & Bobby Lashley, Fastlane 2019
When you consider how thrown together the heel team of McIntyre, Corbin, and Lashley was, they gelled together wonderfully in this hectic six-man main event, which was 25 minutes of pure fun and chaos.

Shield reunions had run a little dry by this point, but this match proved once again how brilliant they are as a tandem, and how well they work together in the six-man tag team environment. This also marked Reigns’ first match back following his fight with leukemia, making it even more notable.
1 Roman Reigns Vs Drew McIntyre, Survivor Series 2020
Sometimes the action wasn’t overly fast-paced, and the lack of a real audience affected it somewhat, but there is no denying that this match between Reigns and McIntyre felt like a major clash of main eventers. The number one heel and number one babyface, each holding a world title, went head-to-head in this big-time main event.
Whilst The Undertaker’s farewell closed the show, this was still the last match on the card, and it felt like it deserved that spot. The pacing led to an exciting climax and finish, with McIntyre looking strong even in defeat.
