Halloween Havoc returns to wrestling for the first time in 20 years tonight on NXT. Here's everything that has been announced for the show so far.
When WWE bought WCW back in 2001, it also bought all of the IP that came along with it. However, Vince McMahon was, and still is in many ways, reluctant to use any of that IP. If you don't delve too deeply into why the chairman thought that way, it actually makes a little bit of sense. WCW was the company that failed, so why use any of the things that failed along with it?
The thing is, it wasn't that IP which led to WCW's demise. Shows like Starrcade, Bash at the Beach, and Great American Bash. McMahon realizes that now, for the most part, and some of that IP has been used on WWE programming. Another iconic WCW creation will be added to that list tonight when NXT hosts Halloween Havoc. The first time the name has been used since WCW's final Halloween Havoc in 2000.

Five matches have been announced for NXT Halloween Havoc ahead of time, including two title matches. Both of the title matches will require the challengers to spin the wheel and make the deal. The gimmick was an idea used early on in the history of Halloween Havoc. Wrestlers would have to spin a wheel and compete in whatever match type the clicker landed on.
Those two matches will be Johnny Gargano versus Damian Priest for the North American Title, and Candice LeRae versus Io Shirai for the NXT Women's Title. NXT's wheel includes 12 types of matches including a casket match, a buried alive match, and a tables, ladders, and skulls match. Elsewhere, Santos Escobar will compete against Jake Atlas, Raquel Gonzalez will clash with Rhea Ripley, and Dexter Lumis and Cameron Grimes will collide in a Haunted House of Terror match.
Shotzi Blackheart won't be wrestling on the show, or if she is that is yet to be announced, but she will be the host. We're assuming her duties will involve spinning the wheel and welcoming fans to the show. We're also hoping some of the elements of WCW's Halloween Havoc make the show, as if there isn't a giant pumpkin right away, we'll be switching to Dynamite.
