The New World Order reached the end of their first run when the nWo Elite faction arrived and didn't last long. WCW spent months with a huge feud of Kevin Nash leading the Wolfpac and Hulk Hogan leading the Hollywood version of the nWo faction after they split into two groups. The end game saw them reuniting in a huge swerve as nWo Elite.

WCW’s concept was to make the faction more powerful than ever with only the top members getting to be part of this new concept. The angle ended up flopping due to too much confusion and poor execution, but quite a few wrestlers tried their best to make it work.
13 Disco Inferno
Disco Inferno primarily spent his time as a lower card act putting over bigger names in WCW. The New World Order split storyline featured Disco begging Kevin Nash to let him join the Wolfpac to no avail.

Disco finally was allowed to join the nWo when the Elite formed. The rest of the group treated him like a lackey to add more depth to the crowd. Unfortunately, fans just looked at the faction as a joke for having an enhancement talent involved.
12 Konnan
The stint of Konnan in the New World Order’s Elite incarnation only lasted a week. Konnan was a popular face during his time in the Wolfpac faction. WCW fans loved the pre-match promos of Konnan showing off his charisma.
The face momentum of Konnan saw WCW booking him to get kicked out of the nWo Elite after a week. Konnan standing up for his friend Rey Mysterio against Kevin Nash’s bullying led to both Nash and Lex Luger kicking him out.
11 David Flair
One of the strangest inductions into the Elite version of the New World Order saw David Flair joining. The first major feud for Hulk Hogan when winning back the WCW Championship to reunite the nWo placed him against Ric Flair.
David betrayed his father to help Hogan retain the title as the newest member of the nWo Elite. Torrie Wilson was hired by Kevin Nash to seduce David and it was enough to cause the odd heel turn. David flopped in the nWo and never broke out as a star for WCW.
10 Torrie Wilson
The start of Torrie Wilson’s WCW career saw Kevin Nash hiring her both in real life and on television as David Flair’s love interest. Wilson was a heel tasked with manipulating David into turning on his father.
The couple of Torrie and David continued until they were removed from the group after about two months. Wilson was still getting used to the wrestling industry, but she did enough to continue improving as a character.
9 Rick Steiner
Rick Steiner was the most overlooked member of the New World Order in the Elite chapter since he was rarely with the full group. The presence of Scott Steiner in the faction saw him inducting Rick in a promo following the latter’s heel turn.
WCW struggled to book Rick after the Steiner Brothers split, so this was the perfect route to rebranding him. Rick changed his look and did well as a heel, but his time in the group wasn’t long enough to contribute as much as those above him.
8 Buff Bagwell
The WCW career of Buff Bagwell peaked with his stint in the New World Order. Bagwell never achieved the potential WCW expected from him to eventually become one of the main eventers for the future of the company.
The nWo split saw Buff remaining in the Hollywood faction as a heel and he stuck around in the nWo Elite group. Bagwell fit into the group, but he couldn’t take the steps needed to get above the mid-card picture.
7 Miss Elizabeth
The managing work of Miss Elizabeth saw her having a few new wrestlers to work with in WCW. Elizabeth betrayed the Wolfpac to join Hollywood during the New World Order faction warfare angle.
The nWo Elite formed on a night where Elizabeth played a huge role in a controversial storyline. Elizabeth accused Goldberg of harassment to get him out of the venue for the nWo to reunite. The time in nWo Elite for Elizabeth featured her managing Lex Luger and Kevin Nash.
6 Eric Bischoff
WCW using Eric Bischoff as a heel character found success in the New World Order. Bischoff added another layer to the faction since he referenced his real-life power running WCW as part of the storyline.

The nWo Elite added Bischoff as an original member since he was an important part of the faction’s identity. Bischoff took a step back from the on-air role after a couple of months to start playing an impartial figure as WCW needed changes.
5 Scott Hall
Scott Hall was the first member of the original New World Order, and he played a huge role in the Elite version. Kevin Nash ending Goldberg’s undefeated streak to win the WCW Championship saw Hall using a taser on Goldberg to help set the chain of events.
Hall helped unite Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash for the original trio to merge the factions into the nWo Elite. The negatives were that Hall was dealing with personal and physical issues. Hall’s work took a hit and he was removed from the group following an injury.
4 Lex Luger
The biggest surprise during the New World Order’s grand plan featured Lex Luger turning heel to remain in the Elite. Luger originally joined the Wolfpac as a face since he feuded with the heels of the nWo from the start.
Goldberg returning to the venue to attack Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash ended with Luger entering the ring to attack him. WCW turning Lex heel was a huge move after years of face work. Nash and Luger teamed for a few months to start the group.
3 Scott Steiner
Scott Steiner was a more credible singles star when the New World Order reunited as a fresher talent in nWo Elite. The prior heel turn of Steiner saw him getting enough time to establish his new Big Poppa Pump character.
Rick was inducted into the group by Scott to show how much his power had improved from the prior time they were all together. WCW pushed Steiner harder and he benefited in the long-term after the nWo Elite ended.
2 Hulk Hogan
The star power of Hulk Hogan was still extremely strong when the New World Order storyline played out. Hogan was coming off a small break after the nWo Hollywood faction started to fall apart compared to the Wolfpac.
The big swerve of the nWo Elite forming came when Hogan won the WCW Championship from Kevin Nash with the finger poke of doom. Hogan still received strong heat, but WCW clearly needed to make some changes of things growing stale in general.
1 Kevin Nash
The biggest change for the members of the New World Order during the Hollywood vs Wolfpac feud was Kevin Nash becoming a bigger star. Nash was pushed as a singles face winning the WCW Championship after ending his prior tag team with Scott Hall.
The star power of Nash elevated him above Hogan, but the nWo Elite forming slowed down his momentum by removing him from the main event picture. Nash had a solid feud with Rey Mysterio that started Rey’s “giant killer” gimmick.
