Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have been the center of a lot of talk regarding AEW's backstage environment. News recently broke that the pair had been pulled from AEW's upcoming video game which didn't help to quell rumors that FTR has heat backstage.
RELATED: Wardlow Talks Batista Comparisons, Potential AEW Heel RunFTR currently have three world tag team championships (AAA, ROH, and IWGP) but were apparently expecting the chance to earn a fourth title, the AEW Tag Team Championships. FTR first became AEW tag champs in 2020 but lost the titles to the Young Bucks after a fairly short title reign.
The Biggest Tag Match of All Time?
FTR recently spoke to Give Me Sport about their rivalry with the Young Bucks and AEW's upcoming PPV, All Out. The following transcription has been provided by Fightful.
I think, we expected that, and we as performers, individuals, and a tag team, thought it was the right way to go. I'm saying this without any ego, I think it could have been at least built as the biggest tag team match of all time. Four world championships on the line, the two best tag teams of a generation going two on two at a big pay-per-view, it could've been built as the biggest tag match of all time. I think, our problem was, we just expected that to happen. We expected, with how hot we've gotten and how much heat those guys were getting, they were chanting 'FTR' during their promo a few weeks ago, which could have gotten us in a little trouble, who knows. We thought the course could have changed. For a couple of weeks, we thought, 'it should be that.'

A match at All Out would've given the Bucks and FTR their third encounter. They are currently 1-1 against each other, meaning the match would've been a rubber match in addition to having four titles on the line. Even though they didn't get the match they were expecting, FTR are looking forward to teaming with their friend and Pinnacle teammate Wardlow against Jay Lethal and the Motor City Machine Guns.
Now on pay-per-view, we get to team with one of our very good friends, Wardlow, and get to work with someone as effortlessly talented as Jay Lethal and, on top of that, we get to work with guys we've looked to work with for years in the Motor City Machine Guns. Even though we didn't get what we expected or what we thought, it's a hell of a consolation prize.
