What a difference a year can make. This time last year, NXT used WWE's previously retired In Your House PPV brand for the second time, and a five-way match which included four Superstars who are no longer with the company and another who has been renamed Butch headlined the show. Compare that to tonight's main event, and you might have the starkest comparison between the old NXT and NXT 2.0 to date. It would also be the second-to-last TakeOver ever before that part of the special event's branding was dropped.RELATED: It’s Time For Mandy Rose To Leave NXT And Return To The Main RosterOnto 2.0's first chance to compete with the In Your House banner attached, and every championship on the brand was on the line tonight. Joe Gacy's second, and probably last, chance to dethrone Bron Breakker, Wendy Choo with the opportunity to beat Mandy Rose, and a whole lot more. Not to mention non-title action between two warring factions, which is exactly where Saturday's show would begin.

Winner: The Family Thwarts Legado Del Fantasma

NXT 2.0 might not have inherited the TakeOver name from the black and gold brand, but this match was evidence that at least some elements of its formula still remain. If you've got a multi-person match that is probably going to be non-stop action, then use it to start the show and get the fans out their seats. That's what happened here, and in a rivalry that has been largely talking between Legado Del Fantasmas and The Family, this match allowed all six Superstars to prove they can also throw down. The winners of this one really didn't matter, but The Family picking up the victory is a sign that they will be the ones going onto bigger and better things in NXT 2.0 in the immediate future, particularly Tony D'Angelo.

Loser. Toxic Attraction Retain Tag Team Gold

This match was always going to struggle to make a mark, largely because the NXT women's tag division finds itself in a similar spot to the one on the main roster. Well, that might be a little harsh as at least there are actually teams and champions in NXT. The thing is, even though Kayden Carter and Katana Chance have been together for a while, it never felt as if they were ever really going to win this one. It was an okay match, but one with a predictable outcome. Toxic Attraction wins, and the one thing that isn't predictable is where this division goes next.

Winner: Carmelo Hayes Is A Two-Time Champion

There was a point in this match where Wade Barrett commented that some said the North American Title felt like a bigger deal than the NXT Championship when held by Carmelo Hayes. Whether that was the case when Hayes was champ or not is up to the individual. As for right now, it really does feel that way. Hayes and Cameron Grimes are both incredibly talented, and Solo Sikoa, who was promised next, has made segments surrounding this title some of the best in NXT for weeks. This match lived up to all of that, and even included a rather surprising title switch. Hayes pinned Grimes to become North American Champion for the second time. Since Grimes was the one who promised Sikoa next, it's now unclear whether the young Uso will still get that shot.

Winner: Mandy Rose Puts Wendy Choo To Sleep

The match for the NXT Women's Title might well have been the best example on the show of how different NXT 2.0 is from the black and gold brand. However, it was also the best example of how what WWE wants this brand to be from now on can work when the right people are involved. Mandy Rose has been a terrific champion in NXT, something very few saw coming, and despite Wendy Choo's popularity, having Rose retain here was the right decision. The match was a far cry from the NXT women's division of old, but again, not in a bad way. A lot of fun, entertaining spots, but also some hard-hitting moves.

Winner: The Creed Brothers Finally Win Gold

When MSK became Tag Team Champions for the second time, NXT's tag division felt like it was in a pretty great place. Funny what the release of even just half a tag team can do to ruin that. The title match at In Your House felt like the first step towards trying to get back on track, a step that resulted in The Creed Brothers winning gold for the very first time. Julius and Brutus are far from the finished product, but they have improved massively and could have a very bright future. They deserved to be champions before now, so seeing them beat Pretty Deadly and get emotional after the fact was one of the highlights of the night.

Loser: Bron Breakker Defeats Joe Gacy

The decision to have Bron Breakker and Joe Gacy feud over the NXT Title has been a head scratcher from the very beginning. While what will hopefully be the final match between the two wasn't terrible, it was always going to be tainted by the fact this feud hasn't really connected because none of it has really made any sense. From Gacy kidnapping people only to let them go right away, to the lose by DQ and lose the title stipulation attached to this match. Breakker won, which was never in any doubt, and let's hope he can now move onto a challenger that makes more sense and returns Breakker and his title to the spotlight they deserve to be in.
