After releasing a statement that she wouldn't be returning to WWE and her contract would be coming to an end in July, Paige has offered a bit more insight into her decision to move on from the sports entertainment company, stating it wasn't actually her decision.
During a recent stream on Twitch, Paige offered more information about her leaving WWE and said it was because WWE had decided to not renew her contract. She said she been aware for some time that this day was coming and was called and told by WWE about their decision. She wanted to stay but has no hard feelings. She said, “It is what it is. I’m not leaving because I want to, they just don’t want to re-sign my contract. I completely understand. And, considering she's been out of action with a long-term, career-threatening injury, this news shouldn't come as a surprise.

Paige revealed that she got a call from WWE and they weren't even interested in negotiating. Still, she said she is appreciative of WWE because they helped her a lot and more than just wrestling as they got her a therapist while she was battling alcohol issues and kept paying her after having neck surgery. While she knows that another contract wasn't likely going to equate to her making an in-ring comeback, Paige felt she had a lot left to give and could be active on the roster in a manager role.
Does Paige Have A Non-Compete?
Paige believes she's free and clear to go where she wants and sign with whomever she'd like. She noted, “If you don’t renew the contract then, I don’t think there’s any non-compete clause. She added that WWE said they are keeping the door open to a return but feels like that "usually what companies say."
