While fans are wondering if and/or when Ronda Rousey might make a return to WWE, one WWE star has hinted she may have already signed an extension and both she and WWE are keeping that news a closely-guarded secret.

Paul Heyman spoke with The New York Post and when asked about Rousey and a possible return to WWE, he dropped a suggestion that she may have already extended her WWE contract despite what people think they know. "That's another funny thing about people who don't discuss their business in public forums," Heyman said when asked if he thought she'd return for the rumored date her current deal expires in April. He explained:

"Everyone presumes that Ronda Rousey's contract expires at a certain time. I don't understand why people don't realize that perhaps, just perhaps, Ronda Rousey's contract has been extended or she has worked out a new deal and it would not benefit either WWE or Ronda Rousey to go public with that information. But why wouldn't people understand that it would be kept secret?"

Is Heyman Trolling Or Does He Have Inside Knowledge?

As a guy who once ran Raw, Heyman might be aware of such an extension if one took place. At the same time, if he knew everyone was keeping things a secret, it also wouldn't benefit him to share that secret. It's hard to know where he might sit since he didn't outright say Rousey had extended.

What's more likely is that this is master manipulator having fun with WWE fans. Maybe he knows, maybe he doesn't. Still, it's probably exciting for a guy like Heyman to see fans get stirred up and excited about a potential return. Build the buzz. That's what a good promoter does.

If she has signed an extension, it makes a ton of sense for WWE to keep that quiet in the hopes they can bring her back at some point with fans to maximize the value of her return.
