The WWE Attitude Era is one of the most infamous and imitated generation in all of professional wrestling history. From 1997 through the spring of 2002, WWE would change their product focus to a more mature adult content. The era would usher in more cursing, violence and sexuality in the ring. The era was defined more by the characters and promos than the in ring action.

During the Attitude Era stars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, The Rock and Mankind would become household names. The era would have both cringey and legendary storylines. Much of the era would be imitated by other companies and other generations, yet today's roster could recreate some of the best Attitude Era storylines.
10 Sable & Marc Mero Recreated By Bianca Belair & Montez Ford
One of the most famous Attitude Era storylines involved the rise in popularity of bombshell Sable and the jealous antics of Marc Mero. Mero would go as far as trying to get the attractive diva to cover up when she came to ringside. Mero's jealousy of Sable would lead to a feud. Sable would eventually get the better of Mero in the ring. On the modern roster, a similar storyline with Bianca Belair and husband, Montez Ford could help elevate both stars. While Belair is already a main event act, Montez has struggled to break away from tag team partner, Angelo Dawkins. Yet, if Ford become the jealous overprotective husband, Belair could improve her character and Ford could become a hated heel.
9 TLC Recreated By Pretty Deadly, Viking Raiders & Los Lotharios
The Attitude Era teams of the Dudley Boys, Hardy Boys and Edge and Christian would change the dynamic of WWE tag teams during the rise of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. The trio of legendary teams would accomplish spots in the ring that were never before seen. The absolute violence and death defying acts in the matches have become legendary. If WWE recreated that storyline, Pretty Deadly is the perfect team to imitate Edge and Christian. The Viking Raiders could match the Dudley Boys with their skill set. And real life cousins Humberto and Angel could recreate the Hardy Boys.
8 Three Faces Of Foley Recreated By LA Knight
Mick Foley become a legend by competing as three different characters in the 1998 Royal Rumble. The Three Faces of Foley storyline would add layers of depth to the Mick Foley character. Foley would become a main event act, by channeling his three personalities. While many modern day fans would associate LA Knight with the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Knight is lacking that character depth. If Knight would go through some type of psychosis during his current feud with Roman Reigns; WWE could offer up the LA Knight character, TNA's Eli Drake character and Knight's original main roster character, Max Dupri. A 2024 Royal Rumble with 3 LA Knight characters would rock.
7 ECW Invasion Recreated By NWA Invasion
In early 1997, Paul Heyman and ECW would come through the 'forbidden door' before it had a clever name. Heyman and his ECW stars would invade WWE Raw and kickoff a feud with Jerry the King Lawler. While most of the feud would transpire outside of WWE, the invasion was a cool storyline for fans. With NWA touting a new television deal with the CW, what a major rub the company could get if some of their stars appeared on WWE television. NWA owner, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame leading EC3, Chris Adonis and others into Smackdown (where former NWA champion Nick Aldis is GM) would be must see TV.
6 Chyna Wins Intercontinental Championship Recreated By Jade Cargill Winning US Championship
At No Mercy 1999, Chyna would win the Intercontinental Championship in a Good House Keeping Match with Jeff Jarrett. While it was Jarrett's last match before heading to WCW, it would crown Chyna as the only female Intercontinental Champion in WWE history. Her run would also include a feud with Chris Jericho and legitimize Chyna as a contender no matter her gender. WWE is using a lot of resources to build Jade Cargill before she has even wrestled her first match for the company. Cargill has a look that jumps off the page, and she could easily be a contender for the WWE United States title currently held by Rey Mysterio. If Jade won the US title in her first match, she would be a bona fide superstar.
5 DX Vs The Nation Recreated By Bloodline Vs Judgment Day
D-Generation would expand after WrestleMania 14 in 1998. That expansion included the New Age Outlaws and X-Pac. During the summer of 1998 one of the best Attitude Era storylines was the feud with the new DX and the new Nation of Domination led by the Rock.

The two factions used great in ring action and incredible promos to heat up their feud. If the Bloodline and the Judgment Day went head to head with Roman Reigns and Damian Priest as the two "leaders" we could see Priest move up the main event scene on WWE television. Let's just not have either group parody the other, as occurred in the original feud.
4 Y2J's Debut Recreated By Will Ospreay's Debut
Chris Jericho would debut in WWE, after weeks of the "new millennium countdown clock" appeared. The Jericho debut excited fans and made Y2J a star even before his first match. His debut would interrupt the Rock and raise Jericho to the main event in one moment. If WWE hyped the debut of Will Ospreay in the same way and allow him to interrupt a name like Seth Rollins, he would be a made star. Ospreay is considered one of the best wrestlers in the world, and a debut feud with Seth Rollins would solidify that.
3 Eddie Guerrero/Chyna Love Affair Recreated By Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley
WWE has already laid the groundwork for the parallels of Eddie Guerrero and Chyna with Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. During their love angle, Guerrero would call Chyna "mamacita" while his "nephew" Dominik calls Ripley "mami".

Rhea Ripley's dominate physique is easily compared to the 9th Wonder of the World Chyna. With Dominik already a heat magnet, cheating on Ripley and being in a feud with the Eradicator would turn up the volume on his already deafening boos. This seems like a re-creation that is destined to happen.
2 Rise Of Original DX Recreated By Grayson Waller, Austin Theory & Nia Jax
Shawn Michaels and Triple H would help usher in the Attitude Era with their sophomoric behavior and over the top promos. Chyna would always have their back as the heater of the group. DX would become one of the most legendary and notorious groups in WWE history. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have already began teaming as A Town Down Under, and the two young stars have bright futures. If WWE combined those two talents with a dominating female such as Nia Jax, you have the foundation to a recreated D-Generation X.
1 Austin Vs McMahon Recreated By Bayley Vs Michael Cole
While DX may have ushered in the Attitude Era, Austin vs McMahon was the greatest storyline. The concept of the regular guy fighting his corrupt boss would resinate across all gender and culture barriers to become the most successful storyline of all time. The problem with the success is it can not truly be recreated. Yet, with Bayley and her obvious feud with Michael Cole, you could develop some Austin/McMahon vibes. WWE could not brand an entire era off the storyline, but they could get a very entertaining WrestleMania match out of it.
