Roman Reigns has enjoyed a lengthy spell at the top of SmackDown Live as 'The Big Dog' and head of his family table, all whilst holding the WWE Universal Championship. In that time he's also made his fair share of enemies with Edge and Daniel Bryan vying to remove the coveted strap from him at WrestleMania.

But, true to form, 'The Big Dog' is not content with just two opponents at WrestleMania and continuing to try and get Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to face him in the ring, no, he's out to make another enemy!

This time the WWE Champion has set his sights on former UFC Star and prominent wrestling fan Daniel Cormier after calling the former fighter out during an interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani on his MMA Show earlier this week.

The conversation turned towards whether or not Reigns preferred to take part in Triple Threat Matches, given that he is going up against two former world champions at 'Mania, or if he enjoys a good ol' one-on-one match more. This was his answer, (h/t wrestlinginc)

“I like one-on-one, to be honest, I’ll smash anybody one-on-one, whether it’s Daniel Bryan, Edge, or D.C., I’ll smash them all one-on-one,” Reigns said. “Get him from behind the table and back in the gym, maybe, maybe he could have a chance. I don’t know. It would be a short story for D.C.”

Daniel Cormier has often interacted with WWE Superstars as a fan of wrestling and WWE has often flirted with the idea of bringing him into the fold, especially following the success of Ronda Rousey's transition from MMA fighter to WWE Superstar. Whilst he's currently commentating for UFC, Cormier was quick to respond to Reigns' comments and accept the offer of a match,

Cormier then followed that previous tweet up with the following tweet, suggesting that all that needs to happen for the match to take place is for Vince McMahon to book it.

I would love to see Roman Reigns and Daniel Cormier 'dance' in the ring, to use Cormier's words. But 'The Big Dog' has to topple two formidable foes at WrestleMania first, and there's a part of me that's still hoping all of this leads to that marquee Reigns Vs Rock match in the future, so I'm not sure where D.C. fits in there!
