Scott Hall's son Cody Hall has issued an apology for a racially insensitive tweet he sent out over the weekend. It has resulted in him being pulled from upcoming DDT shows.
There are countless cases of pro wrestling being a family business. The McMahons, the Rhodes, the Guerreros, just a few examples of families where it feels as if wrestling is in every member's blood. However, being the son or daughter of a wrestler isn't enough to make it in the business. It might get your foot in the door, but after that, the work really begins.
Scott Hall's son Cody Hall is currently working his way up wrestling's totem pole and following in his father's footsteps. He is far and away from being the next Razor Ramon, but with the help of his Hall of Fame dad, Cody is busy making a name for himself in Japan. Unfortunately for the second-generation star, he threw a self-imposed roadblock in his way over the weekend.

Cody tweeted a poorly thought out joke making light of the coronavirus, while also making a racist comment for good measure. It has since been deleted, but according to Ringside News it read, "Blah blah coronavirus. Welcome to the yellow fever." DDT Pro-Wrestling has released a statement revealing Cody has been removed from all upcoming dates he had been previously been advertised for.
Cody has also issued an apology for the tweet. "I made a comment based on a picture I saw of a fellow wrestler with a young Japanese girl," Cody wrote in an attempt to explain the ill-thought-out joke. "I love Japan and its people more than anywhere in the world, and I'm sorry I did anything other than just say that."
In terms of controversy, Cody has the advantage of being able to go to someone who has been a part of plenty of it for advice. His dad might have never experienced exactly what Cody did over the weekend, but he has been forced to deal with his fair share of sticky situations over the course of his wrestling career. If he is as good between the ropes as his father, chances are he will bounce back from this given enough time.
