This week's edition of Dark didn't quite reach the heights of last week's outstanding episode. The card mainly consisted of squash matches. AEW's up and comers padded their win-loss records against indie stars. The cream rises to the top on a card like this, and the legitimate stars showed out, making the show worth watching.

Here are your winners and losers for the September 28th edition of AEW Dark from AEW Universal in Orlando, Florida.

Winner: Thunder Rosa Is The #1 Contender

The biggest pop of the entire show was the first one, for the superstar Thunder Rosa. AEW's current number one contender made efficient but brutal work of her opponent Nikita Knight. Following the enormous ovation she received on last night's episode of Dark Elevation (recorded at the jam-packed Arthur Ashe stadium), there are many strong cases that it's time for Thunder Rosa to get her well-deserved title shot.

Winner: Ricky Starks versus Darius Lockhart

Darius Lockhart made his AEW debut against the FTW Champion Ricky Starks in the singles match the night. Starks looked like the magnificent in-ring performer that he is, but Lockhart asserted himself exceptionally well in the match. Lockhart opened the contest by applying some creative and painful-looking submission holds, which Starks sold beautifully. After several back-and-forth exchanges, Lockhart was finally able to garner consistent offense. The Orlando crowd bit on several of the near falls and was more than ready for a surprise upset by the end of the match.

Alas, "Absolute" Ricky Starks would pull off the victory by hitting his patented Spear from out of nowhere. Both wrestlers looked terrific in this contest, and Starks once again made a case for why he deserves more television time.

Winner: Dante Martin & Matt Sydal Victorious Over The Factory

In the best tag team match of the night, Dante Martin and Matt Sydal teamed up before their match against Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson on tomorrow's edition of Dynamite. On this night, they would face off against The Factory's QT Marshall and Aaron Solow. The match was predictable in its layout, but it was still very well-executed. Marshall and Solow would take turns getting heat on either Martin or Sydal, which would inevitably lead to some jaw-dropping counters and high-flying offense from the two elegant athletes.

One of the matches' most impressive spots was when Matt Sydal countered out of a Marshall suplex and somehow turned it into a hurricanrana. Later in the match, Martin and Sydal hit stereo moonsaults on their opponents from the entrance ramp. Martin was able to get the pinfall with his Double Jump Moonsault. We'll see how this duo fairs against Rhodes and Johnson, which should have interesting developments as Rhodes continues to ride the line between babyface and heel.

Overall, this was a serviceable but ultimately skippable episode of AEW Dark. (Although, spending an hour listening to Taz and Excalibur is never time wasted).

* Lance Archer def. Arjun Singh via pinfall with The Blackout in an entertaining (but swift) squash match.

* Ricky Starks def. Darius Lockhart via pinfall with his Spear in a high-octane, well-worked match.

* Dark Order's Evil Uno & Stu Grayson def. Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis via pinfall with PK Kick/Piledriver combo.

* Julia Hart def. Reka Tehaka via pinfall with a running bulldog (accompanied by a split for style).

* Bear Country def. Brick Aldrige & Jameson Ryan via pinfall with a cannonball from Bear Bronson. Bear Bolder appeared to injure himself towards the end of the match, which forced a rushed conclusion to the match.

* Dante Martin and Matt Sydal def. The Factory (QT Marshall & Aaron Solow) via pinfall with Dante's Double Jump Moonsault in the very exciting main event.
