Despite the angle AEW shot between Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho on Dynamite, there are no plans to bring the iconic boxer back just yet.
Mike Tyson might be a household name worldwide for his boxing prowess, he has also left his mark on the wrestling world. Most notably when he joined up with WWE and clashed with Stone Cold. The pull-apart between the two at the height of the Attitude Era is one of the most iconic segments in pro wrestling history.
That initial segment led to Tyson acting as the special guest referee for Stone Cold's match versus Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIV. That match would be the first time Austin won the WWE Title, and it was Tyson who lifted his arm. The boxer has remained a fan of wrestling and recently struck up a relationship with AEW.

Tyson's first appearance with the fledgling company was at Double or Nothing. The former World Champion presented the new TNT Title to Cody after the EVP beat Lance Archer. Four days later, Tyson clashed with Chris Jericho on Dynamite. The angle seemed to be the start of something, perhaps a match between the two at All Out. According to Tony Khan, that will not be the case.
In fact, Khan revealed to the New York Post that at this moment in time, there are no plans to bring Tyson back to AEW. Even though the AEW owner thinks Tyson was terrific and bumped up the interest for Double or Nothing, he hasn't been able to tie the boxer down to appear in AEW again, at least not yet. Khan also loves the idea of Tyson versus Jericho, but that match is not on the cards.
It seems strange that AEW would shoot the angle with no intention of paying it off. Then again, the segment was sort of a pay-off for something that had happened in WWE a decade earlier. Tyson made an appearance that ended with him knocking Jericho out and taking his leave. Le Champion never had a chance to get his revenge. Perhaps the pull apart on Dynamite will be the closest he ever gets.
