Brock Lesnar is a genetic freak and a very special kind of athlete. We were told this constantly during his first WWE run, and he was booked like a one-in-a-generation athlete, capable of manhandling whoever was in the ring against him. Then he went ahead and proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt in the UFC.

He manhandled Frank Mir in his first fight, ade Heath Herring backflip (with a punch to the face) in his second fight, and he became champion in this third bout, defeating Randy Couture. Lesnar is one of the strongest dudes in not just the history of the WWE, but likely the entire sport of professional wrestling.
WWE Superstars Regularly Arm Wrestled Backstage
His WWE debut, the night after WrestleMania 18, saw him toss around a bunch of other wrestlers. He then suplexed the Hardy Boyz over and over again for his first feud, and went on to manhandle superstars such as Undertaker, the Rock, Hulk Hogan, and even the Big Show. While Goldberg was able to pick him up for a jackhammer, Lesnar threw him around for all kinds of suplexes.
Backstage, it was no different. Lesnar once wrestled Mr. Perfect for real and he came out victorious. Kurt Angle managed to score a win over Lesnar in a wrestling match backstage, but by his own admission, it came down to experience and technique, and he also admitted that Lesnar was unnaturally strong. The Beast Incarnate was the most competitive person around. Back in those days, arm wrestling matches were common among the boys backstage.
Brock Lesnar Said He Couldn't Beat Kane At Arm Wrestling
In an interview with Dymatize Nutrition Magazine all the way back in 2010, Lesnar mentioned that most wrestlers backstage arm-wrestled, usually in an attempt to impress the divas, and he ran through everyone on the roster. Even Paul Wright was no problem for him, as Lesnar easily beat him in arm wrestling. There was one guy that Lesnar was not able to beat though. Yes, there existed a mythical superhero that even Brock Lesnar wasn’t able to beat back then, and his name was Kane. Not the Cain in the UFC but the Big Red Monster of WWE.
Lesnar lamented that Kane was the one guy who he wasn’t able to overpower in arm wrestling and that pissed him off. He flat out admitted that Kane was stronger than him and compared arm-wrestling Kane to pushing a tree over with a single hand. This comes as no surprise as Kane was widely regarded as one of the strongest dudes in the back.
Kane Denied Beating Brock Lesnar At Arm Wrestling
His strength was unrivaled, and he was nothing less than a freak athlete himself. He was easily able to lift the Big Show on his shoulder and Big Show himself praised Kane for being stable and strong unlike anyone else. Kane himself, however, disputes that he ever beat Lesnar in an arm-wrestling match.

When he was a guest on Jim Ross’ podcast, JR brought up the rumor of how Kane had bested Lesnar and the Big Red Machine clarified that it was actually a weightlifting competition. He was able to match Lesnar in the gym and that’s another feat in itself.
Jim Ross brought it up as a rumor but in actuality it wasn’t a rumor. Brock Lesnar himself said that he was never able to beat Kane, so this might be a case of Kane being too modest and nice. He was asked this question in 2017 and Lesnar was on top of the wrestling world back then. Kane probably didn’t want to put any sort of dent in his momentum.
Before the unfortunate bicep injury in 2002, Kane was one of the strongest guys in WWE, pound for pound, so it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he was stronger than Brock Lesnar. The Big Red Monster used to slam Big Show and gorilla-pressed guys like Triple H with complete ease. He was that strong.
On the same subject, Lesnar once arm-wrestled his own boss, Vince McMahon. To be allowed to compete at UFC 200, Lesnar had to beat Vince in an arm-wrestling contest, and he did. He beat the almighty Vince McMahon and the Big Show, but he couldn’t beat Kane. Most likely.
