Paul Heyman getting stuck between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar has fans wondering about his future. The assumptions are that either Reigns and Heyman are still together conning Lesnar or that Heyman is heading back to a reunion with Brock. However, the best payoff could be Heyman growing tired of them both and representing someone new.
Previous runs that saw Heyman managing new talents like Cesaro, Curtis Axel, and Ryback all failed due to him having to prioritize Lesnar over them. The idea of Heyman leaving both Brock and Roman would give the next talent to work with him a huge boost. There is one name ready to ascend if given the opportunity of being Heyman’s next client.

Paul Heyman's use has been the most riveting part of the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns feud. Fans have more interest in the current version of the rivalry than previous chapters due to the fresh feel of Brock being the face and Roman playing the heel. However, it is mostly the mystery of Heyman’s loyalty as the biggest story of the feud.

The recent angle of Reigns attacking Heyman for not showing proper respect to him has fans wondering what’s coming next. Lesnar has shown support for Heyman and even made his way to the ring to attack Roman after he struck their fellow advocate. Heyman still showed support for Reigns by claiming he was worried about his safety when it came to the Beast Incarnate.
WWE has a huge decision to make with the major Day 1 match and beyond. Most viewers assume Heyman will either help Roman to reveal it was a major plan all along. Others think that a reunion with Brock may be the way to go for the freshest story. Few people are talking about the potential of Heyman choosing to ditch them both and managing someone new as the end game of this storyline.
It Could Be The Best Time For Heyman To Break Away
WWE is on the money when they often reference Paul Heyman as being the greatest manager in wrestling history. Heyman is one of the few managers that could be considered for a Mount Rushmore of talents to thrive in that role. Both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar have benefited immensely from having Heyman as their advocate at ringside.
The problem is that both have evolved past needing Heyman to help them. Reigns is currently doing the best work of his career after getting over as a heel and can cut his own promos. The current face character of Brock is also the best work he’s done in years with fans loving the new fun side of the beast in between his vicious beat downs.
Heyman is a nice help to have since his presence will always add to the interest, but neither wrestler needs him in the story or in their future. WWE is risking wasting the final few years of a legendary performer at the top of his game. Heyman may be better suited breaking away from both wrestlers taking him for granted. A new wrestler entering that picture could be the best way to make Heyman an equal mind to them for a better story.
Who Should Be Heyman's New Client?
The expectation for wrestlers managed by Paul Heyman now is for them to thrive in the main event picture. Heyman’s memorable stints with Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and CM Punk saw him managing champion after champion after champion with the others being forgotten. Anyone getting that push of having Heyman in their corner would need to at least have a chance at holding their own against Reigns and Lesnar.
A funny twist could see Cesaro once again with Heyman getting a real push into the main event scene this time to correct that wasted opportunity, but WWE has made it clear they don't view him as a top star. Ricochet, Mustafa Ali, and Sami Zayn all have too many things working against them to be considered for such a role.
There are some threats on Raw like Bobby Lashley or Kevin Owens who would thrive with Heyman in this role, but WWE likely won’t risk overcomplicating things. Drew McIntyre is the only talent on the Smackdown brand that would fit into Heyman’s story with Reigns and Lesnar. WWE has protected McIntyre for months while keeping him out of the title picture ahead of WrestleMania season. Heyman being revealed as the advocate for Drew could be the best story to come out of Roman and Brock putting him in a desperate position.
