He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors did an operation. The surgeons had to cut a part of his chest in order to solve his breathing problem and that surgery created the chest-gap problem for Steiner. He was in a terrible condition when admitted to the hospital and the doctors gave him only a few hours to live. But Steiner wasn't even recognizing the severity of the situation but after talking to his wife, he agreed to undergo surgery.
