WWE 2K22 is out in the wild as those who bought the Deluxe and nWo editions of the game have been able to play via early access since Tuesday. That means we are quickly starting to discover whether the game stacks up to previous installments, and more importantly if it makes up for the misgivings of WWE 2K20. We're also learning which wrestlers made the roster, and which ones, like Doudrop, did not.
WWE 2K22 Is All Elite
Even though some current WWE Superstars aren't in the game, a number of those who have been released over the past 12 months are. Braun Strowman, Toni Storm, and Samoa Joe are all in there, among others. What might surprise players even more are the references to wrestlers who haven't competed for the company in years, and in some cases have never wrestled there at all.

The SmackDown Hotel has published a full list of the preset entrances players can use in 2K22 to create their own. Those entrances can then be given to wrestlers already in the game and also ones plauers create themselves. What's surprising is the number of entrances on the list not tied to WWE at all. Players can have their CAWs come to the ring like Kenny Omega, Britt Baker, and Sonny Kiss, among others.

Those wrestlers aren't listed by name, of course, but some hard work by The SmackDown Hotel and its readers has resulted in most of the preset names being deciphered. Omega's, for example, is listed as Alpha Omega, while Baker's is called The Doctor Is In. This is actually nothing new and is something WWE has done in previous games. It stems from wrestlers, sometimes even those not contracted to WWE, performing motion capture work for WWE 2K games, and that work being kept on file for future titles.
With entrance presets from AEW stars available to use, those of you with the time and know-how could create an entire All Elite roster in 2K22. Since wrestlers like Keith Lee and Isiah Scott are already in the game, you won't even need to start from scratch. Start a Wednesday Night War of your very own in Universe Mode and don't worry about having to wait for AEW to launch their own game. That might still be a while.
