WWE booked a very interesting match for Sunday night. During Monday's episode of Raw, Alexa Bliss called out Randy Orton by offering The Viper a chance to kick her out of his life. It was a challenge he accepted and the match will go down at Fastlane.
Since WWE doesn't really do intergender matches and with over a month's worth of teases that The Fiend might be making his way back to WWE, this bout seems like the perfect time for Bray Wyatt to make his return.
The WWE Universe hasn't seen The Fiend for a while. After being lit on fire by Orton and vanishing from WWE programming, not a week has gone by where Wyatt's presence hasn't been felt. Whether it's in the creepy and ominous delivery of Alexa Bliss' lines or the black goo being spewed from Orton's mouth, The Fiend will return. Fastlane seems like the right place and the right time.
There was some thought that maybe The Fiend wouldn't show his face until WrestleMania 37. But, this match being officially booked by WWE and the looming peril Bliss has just stuck herself in seems to suggest an appearance before then. That said, what we get and which version of the character returns is anyone's guess.
This should be a highly anticipated bout on Sunday's card. A pay-per-view that feels a bit thrown together at the last minute, this match has had tons of time to build, even if a one-on-one contest was never expected to be part of the equation.
Does The Fiend Show Or Not Show?
Our guess is that we get the return of The Fiend on Sunday. But, WWE may pull a swerve on everyone and hold off, much like they did when John Cena continually called out The Undertaker.
