2023 has been a huge year for big signings in the wrestling world. Edge is now AEW's Adam Copeland, Jade Cargill is a WWE Superstar, and CM Punk's music hit to close Survivor Series, proving hell really has frozen over. We can likely expect some more big signings in 2024, especially with Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks, seemingly eyeing up her next move.
Mone's Secret Message
It was less than six months ago that an AEW debut for Mone seemed pretty much nailed on, especially after she was shown taking in the action at All In. However, still recovering from a broken arm she suffered over the summer, whatever plans AEW had for Mone have apparently been shelved. Now fans think Mone may well re-sign with WWE, and The Boss is either teasing that or having a little fun with those who believe it.
Mercedes Moné Asking Price Reportedly Higher Than Charlotte Flair's New Deal
Reports are surfacing that Mercedes Moné is asking for an astronomical number to sign with WWE. It's reportedly more than what Charlotte Flair got.Mone shared an image from a holiday photo shoot on social media, and it's the caption paired with it that has caught fans' attention. "Happy Happy Holidays". Pretty inconspicuous, except Mone started a new line with each word, and fans noticed when reduced to an acronym, there are three Hs. Perhaps a hint that she will be returning to WWE in the new year so she can once again work under Triple H.
What Are The Odds?
Mone left WWE in 2022 alongside Naomi, now Trinity in Impact. Handing over the Tag Titles on the night they left, the two of them were seemingly fed up with a lack of opportunities and a spotlight for the women's tag division. A lot has changed in WWE since then. That walkout happened two months before Vince McMahon's retirement, and Triple H has taken control of creative since. Someone Mone got along with far better than she did McMahon, rising through the ranks in NXT when the brand was booked by The Game.
I'm firmly on the train of those who think Mone will be a WWE Superstar again at some point in 2024. What I'm unsure of is what name she will go by. You'd think WWE would like her to be Sasha Banks again since that's how she was known during her first run. However, the same post in which Mone seems to subtly nod to Triple H states all she wants is more Mone. With Triple H in charge, I wouldn't be surprised if Mone is allowed to keep her new name should she return.
